Here's is the Custom Prestige Class I made for D&D 3.5 which is for melee rangers advancing, and takes abilities and skills based truly off of the video game, and feels like the class from the video game "The Witcher." This class was properly balanced during / after initial creation using an official 3.5 Class Balancing & Creation Manual.

The Witcher

Characteristics & Background: A witcher is a professional monster slayer, who begins
their training at a very early age, leaving their families to go and train with a witcher
or group of witchers.

A witcher uses a number of various weapons in combat, most specifically two two-handed swords: a normal
steel sword for non-magical monsters, and a silver sword for magical creatures. The skills that a
witcher possesses, allow him to effectively study, hunt, and kill whatever he is hunting. He
also has a vast knowledge of monsters in the world, what they can do, and what he needs to do
to take them down. A witcher also, does not cast spells, instead they have a number of magical
signs that they can invoke at any time to aid them, which regenerate quickly so they can use
them in other battles. They also go through various trials to make their bodies immune to diseases
by subjecting themselves to various types.

Alignment: Witchers only care about killing monsters that they’re contracted to kill.
They have a set number of self-imposed laws that they follow, and generally do not get
involved with the happenings of the world around them, and are only concerned with the
contract they’re hired for. So any type of Neutral will work for a witcher.

Religion: Witchers do not believe in a religion.

Pre-Req’s:
Base Attack Bonus: +6
Craft (Alchemy): 8
Dodge
Mobility
Proficiency in Light Armor & Martial Weapons
Special: Must have been trained by a witcher.

Hit Die: D10

Favored Enemy - Same as the ranger from the Players Handbook.

Witcher's Health - Immune to all diseases including magical.

Witcher's Stances - Power, Quick, Group. The benefits of a stance are only
________________usable while in that stance. Changing stance is a full
________________round action that does not provoke an attack of opportunity.
___Power - +2Dmg,-2AC, You fight recklessly putting your all
_______into your attacks. This leaves you open but allows
_______you to hit harder.
___Quick - +2Attack,-2Dmg, Your attacks become quicker and more
_______accurate but lack your full strength on impact.
___Group - +2AC,-2Attack, You know how to protect yourself
_______against groups but to defend so much reduces how
_______often you are able to hit.

Witcher's Haste - Starting at level 5, a Witcher using Quick Stance can make an additional
____________attack each round. If the choose to do so all attacks that round suffer a -2
____________penalty to hit. At level 7 they may make 2 attacks and suffer a -4 to hit, and
____________finally at level 9, they can make 3 additional attacks but all attacks suffer a -6.

Signs - Spell like abilities of the Witcher. These can be used in any stance a but only a certain
number of times per day.

Aard Sign - 3/day you can call upon the Aard Sign. All creatures within 10ft
are pushed 5 feet back from you. Huge and Larger creatures are unaffected
but incorporeal creatures can be affected. Casting this is a move action
that does provoke and attack of opportunity but you get a +2AC against the AoO.

Igni Sign - 3/day you can call upon the Igni Sign to unleash a cone of flame against your enemies.
The cone is 15ft and deals 3d6fire dmg with a reflex save DC14+witcher level for half
damage. This is a standard action that provokes an attack of opportunity.

Yrden Sign -6/day a Witcher may call upon the Yrden Sign. This duplicates the spell Evards Black
Tentacles with the exception that duration is based on Witcher Level and Tentacle attack
bonus is equal to 4+ Witcher Level.

Qenn Sign - While this sign is active a Witcher may use a free action to repel a single enemy.
The enemy must make a reflex save DC17 or be pushed back 5ft. This affects creatures of
large or smaller. If the witcher is in Quick Stance, he may make a number of repels each
round equivalent to his Combat Reflexes. If in Power Stance he may repel a Huge or Gargantuan
creature or he may push a large or smaller creature back 10ft. If in Group Stance he may
activate it similiar to Aard sign except only affecting small or smaller creatures. Stance may
be changed without dropping and reactivating the Qenn Sign. During Stance change the ability of
this is still based of last stance held.

Axxii Sign -2/day a Witcher may control a creature as per the Dominate Monster Spell.

Here is a link to the Wiki page for The Witcher, if you read this, you'll notice the only thing that I did not include in this rendition of the witcher as a class is the sign that was left out of the game, as I wanted to stick to what was specifically included and not what did not make the cut to the final product of the game.
